Under the Neem Tree

Under the big neem tree in Dadi's front yard, the days are full of small, important things. Mira wakes up with a grey cloud in her tummy and has to find out its name. Aarav's tallest-ever tower comes crashing down, and he learns what a balloon can teach about anger. A bean seed takes nine whole days to come up, and a house of cards falls three times before it stands. The picnic gets rained out, a chalk sun gets smudged, something is hiding under the bed, and one laddoo sits on a plate looking at Aarav until tomorrow. And through it all there is Dadi, who knows when to wait, when to tell a story and when to bring out the lemon juice, and Bruno, who is usually lying on whatever you were trying to build.
